Data we collect
Data you give us
- Identity and contact: first name, last name, display name, email address, phone number, and a profile picture if you add one.
- Account: the sign-in method you used (phone, email, Google or Apple), preferred language, notification settings.
- Correspondence: the content of the messages you send our support team, and the vehicle reports you file.
Data generated by your use of the service
- Rides: start and end times, duration, distance, average speed, vehicle used and pass consumed.
- Location: start position, end position and tracking points during a ride in progress, used to check that you ride and park inside a permitted zone.
- Passes and payments: passes bought, time remaining, amounts paid in CFA francs, transaction references, promo codes used, unlock fees and any penalties or debts.
- Statistics: total rides, cumulative distance, cumulative time, CO₂ avoided and total spend, shown in your profile.
Technical data
- Device identifier, operating system and app version.
- Push notification token, if you accepted notifications.
- Connection logs: first sign-in date, last sign-in, sign-in count, IP address.
03
Location data, specifically
Location is essential to the service: without it we cannot show you available vehicles, confirm that you are unlocking the scooter in front of you, or verify that you end your ride in a green zone.
- The app asks for location access the first time you use it. You can refuse, but unlocking and closing a ride will not be possible.
- During a ride, your position is sampled regularly to measure time spent in a red zone and to calculate the distance covered.
- Outside a ride, your position is only used to draw the map around you and is not stored in your history.
- You can withdraw location permission at any time in your phone settings.
04
Why we process this data
- Run the service
- Create your account, sign you in, show vehicles and zones, unlock a scooter, open and close a ride.
- Handle payments
- Sell and activate passes, apply promo codes, charge unlock fees, issue records and recover unpaid amounts.
- Keep the service safe
- Detect abnormal use, fraud attempts, vehicles stranded outside zones and dangerous behaviour.
- Provide support
- Answer your requests and handle complaints and vehicle incidents.
- Improve the service
- Understand where vehicles are missing, where zones are badly drawn, and track service quality from aggregated data.
- Communicate
- Send notifications tied to your rides and, if you agreed to them, news and offers.
- Comply with the law
- Keep accounting records and respond to requests from the competent authorities.
05
Legal bases
- Performance of the contract formed when you use the service: account, rides, passes, payments and support.
- Your consent, for location, push notifications and marketing messages. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Our legitimate interest, for service safety, fraud prevention and fleet improvement.
- Our legal obligations, in particular accounting and tax obligations, and requests from competent authorities.
06
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers the service needs to run, and only with what they need.
- Google (Firebase)
- Authentication, database and push notifications. Service data is hosted on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure.
- PayDunya
- Mobile Money payment processing in CFA francs. Gbé Mi never receives or stores your wallet or card credentials.
- Mobile Money operators
- The operators involved in the transaction you initiate.
- Vercel
- Hosting for this website.
- Competent authorities
- On a lawful request, or to defend our rights in the event of a dispute, theft or damage to a vehicle.
Each of these providers is contractually bound to protect your data and to use it only for the task we entrust to them.
07
Transfers outside Benin
Some of our technical providers, notably Google and Vercel, host data outside Benin. These transfers rely on the contractual safeguards those providers offer and are limited to what the service requires.

Security
- Traffic between the app, this website and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Access to data by our teams is named, restricted to those who need it, and logged.
- Payments are handled by a specialist provider: no banking data passes through our servers.
- Administrative deletions go through a traceable archive, so a mistaken action can be answered for.
